Developing the economy, tourism, research and employment are major concerns for Haut-Rhin and its inhabitants. This means having a concern for development of particular areas and encouraging partnerships with local public agencies.

» Stimulating economic development

Setting up businesses in the Department is encouraged. Assistance with relocation, support for craftsmanship, agriculture and tourism are amongst the activities carried out by the Conseil Général to encourage growth.

» Developing areas of the Department

The Department, whilst safeguarding the balance between its various areas, tries to compensate for any inequalities between them. It supports communities and assists fragile zones. In addition it has made a commitment to supporting high-speed broadband.

» The Alsace Centre in Paris

Right in the heart of Paris, the Alsace Centre is a promotional shop-window for the two departments. From 2008 onwards it will undergo a relaunch to make it a more effective resource for the promotion of tourism and the economy.
